Overview
We are looking for a highly competent CCTV Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot our clients' closed-circuit television systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in security systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service. You will be responsible for ensuring that all CCTV systems are operating at peak performance to meet our clients' security needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Configuration: Install, configure, and set up new CCTV systems, including cameras (Analog, IP, PTZ), DVRs/NVRs, monitors, and networking equipment.
- Maintenance & Servicing: Perform routine and preventive maintenance on existing systems to ensure optimal functionality and longevity.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and resolve technical issues with cameras, recording devices, cabling, and network connectivity promptly and efficiently.
- Client Support: Provide technical support and training to clients on the operation of their CCTV systems. Address client inquiries and concerns professionally.
- Documentation: Complete detailed service reports, installation documentation, and system schematics for each project.
- Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure all work complies with relevant local codes, safety standards, and company best practices.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with project managers, sales teams, and other technicians to deliver integrated security solutions.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Proven experience (minimum of 2-3 years) as a CCTV Technician or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of CCTV systems, including IP-based and analog technologies.
- Proficiency in networking fundamentals (IP addressing, subnetting, routers, switches) as it relates to IP surveillance systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Experience with running and terminating various types of cable (e.g., Coaxial, UTP, Fiber Optic).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks.
- Physical ability to work on ladders, lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs), and work in various environments.
- A valid driver\'s license and a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant technical certifications (e.g., NICET, VIVOTEK Certified Surveillance Professional, AVIXA CTS).
- Experience with Access Control and Intrusion Alarm systems.
- Knowledge of video management software (VMS) from major manufacturers (e.g., Milestone, Genetec, Exacq).
- Familiarity with power-over-Ethernet (PoE) standards and troubleshooting.
