Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of MRO Category Specialist located in Jurong Island, Singapore through 13th October 2025 at 11:59 p.m. (SGT).

Overview

The MRO Category Specialist is part of the International SCM team supporting the Manufacturing Business. This role reports to the Regional SCM Manager for Manufacturing and is responsible for the development and execution of in‑country MRO category strategies, sourcing, negotiations, and commercial evaluations for Chevron Oronite Pte Ltd. The position will be based at the Chevron Oronite plant on Jurong Island, Singapore.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the MRO Category for Manufacturing, including:
    • Category analysis – conducts supply market analysis and market benchmarking.
    • Develop annual category and contracting plans aligned with business objectives.
    • Develop procurement strategies to deliver sustainable cost savings.
    • Sourcing and negotiation – utilizes strategic sourcing processes and leads negotiations with appropriate strategies and tactics.
    • Develop and implement contracts with key suppliers, overseeing transition and implementation in conjunction with relevant business experts.
    • Supplier performance monitoring – develop mechanisms and metrics to hold suppliers accountable for performance and delivery.
    • Ongoing supplier and contract management – build relationships to ensure continuous cost reduction, value creation, and innovation.
  • Provide functional guidance to business stakeholders and drive P2P compliance:
    • Execute end‑to‑end procurement processes in alignment with company policies and procedures.
    • Act as a procurement advisor, implementing global/regional initiatives at the local level.
    • Offer advice and consultation on procurement and contract management policies.
  • Support Regional SCM Managers in driving cost management opportunities and special projects:
    • Collaborate to explore and implement cost‑saving and efficiency opportunities.
    • Communicate plans and progress with stakeholders and leaders to ensure alignment and promote adoption of cost‑reduction strategies.
    • Leverage technology and data analytics to enhance procurement performance and process efficiency.
    • Drive synergy and enterprise sourcing initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Procurement/Supply Chain Management or related fields.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Procurement/Category Management within the Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical, Chemical industries, or other related businesses.
  • Experience in MRO Category Management and procurement in a plant environment (e.g., terminal, refinery) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of Category Management, including planning, contract and supplier management, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience applying total cost ownership (TCO), should‑cost modeling and other category‑management techniques.
  • Knowledge of commercial and financial analysis related to procurement activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify new opportunities, challenge the status‑quo and drive change.
  • Strong analytical, project management, change management, influencing, communication and presentation skills.
  • Team player with a strong drive for performance and results; proven record of reliable execution.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience with e‑procurement – SMART by GEP / SAP – is a plus.
Relocation Options

Relocation will not be considered within Chevron parameters.

Selected candidate will work in Singapore under the local payroll system and benefits.
