A leading manufacturing company in Singapore is looking for a Procurement Specialist to develop long-term category strategies, conduct market analysis, and lead procurement initiatives. The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or Engineering and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic procurement. Strong negotiation, communication, and supplier development skills are essential for success in this role.
Develop and execute long‑term category strategies, ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and supply security
Conduct market analysis to identify cost drivers, emerging technologies, and sourcing opportunities
Drive supplier development programs, including process improvements, capacity planning, and quality enhancement
Develop and implement a local/regional/global supplier base for all critical components to achieve cost advantages and ensure delivery of quality products
Ensure supplier compliance with quality, intellectual property (IP) protection, and regulatory requirements
Responsible for implementing, reviewing and supporting the development of a vendor risk framework, including conducting periodic risk assessments
Track results and generate in‑charge categories periodic productivity reports and continuously monitor progress of KPIs
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Production Transfer projects, ensuring supplier readiness and on‑time delivery
Creating and developing strong working relationships with key internal and external partners up to Executive levels to achieve strategic objectives of the company
Working with and leading cross‑functional teams to execute sourcing initiatives from start to finish, including the competitive bidding process and contract negotiations
Engage in vendor sourcing, pre‑qualification, setup and tracking of supplier lists
Develops strategic partnerships with preferred suppliers to ensure business objectives are met
Negotiate cost reduction opportunities in line with relevant product cost roadmaps by price/cost analysis, negotiations, and strategic sourcing
Any other tasks as assigned by Reporting Officer
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering (Electrical preferred), business, or a related field
Minimum 5 years of strategic procurement experience in the field of mechatronics and electrical components/assemblies with technical validation
Experience collaborating with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to align procurement with technical requirements
Strong background in supplier development, risk management, and cost optimization
Hands‑on experience with contract negotiation, total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, and cost modeling
Experience with early supplier involvement, supplier development and strategic project sourcing/purchasing
Ability to deal with all levels of personnel, both internally and externally
Experience in building and executing category strategies across multiple commodities and categories
Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and BOMs, identify the constraints and/or translate them into requirements
Cost Analysis & Should‑Cost Modeling – Expertise in fact‑based negotiation, cost breakdowns, and value engineering (VA/VE)
Strategic Sourcing & Contract Management – Ability to develop long‑term supplier agreements (LTAs) and commercial strategies with suppliers
Understanding of the current regulatory requirements and their application across the supply chain spectrum
Experienced in selecting and qualifying suppliers based on QLTC
Positive attitude, self‑motivated and able to work independently in a fast‑paced working environment
Exceptional client relationship, communication, and negotiation skills
Exceptional conceptual thinking, analytical and project management skills
A good team player and good negotiator with vendors
Effective communication with cross‑functional teams such as Project Lead, Project Engineer, Quality, Logistic & Engineering
