SMB Engineering & Construction PTE. LTD.

is seeking a carpenter to plan and execute work from blueprints, drawings or verbal instructions using a range of hand and power tools. The role involves measuring, cutting and shaping wood and related materials to specification, fabricating and installing solid surface countertops, partitions and wall surfaces, and joining materials with nails, screws, or adhesives.

Responsibilities

• Plans and lays out work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions using carpenters' hand tools, portable power tools, and measuring instruments.
• Selects materials necessary for the work and performs standard shop computations relating to dimensions.
• Builds, installs and repairs solid surface countertops, partitions and wall surfaces.
• Joins materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives.
• Ensures adequate supplies of tools, equipment, and materials at work sites.
• Repairs and performs minor furniture repair.

Job description

• Plans and lays out work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions using a variety of carpenter's hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring instruments, makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, and selects materials necessary for the work
• Ensures and delivers an adequate supply of tools, equipment, and materials needed to complete jobs are at work sites as required
• Uses hand and power tools to measure, cut, and shape wood, drywall, and related materials to specification
• Uses hand and power tools to fabricate, install and repair solid surface materials (countertops, partitions and wall surfaces)
• Joins materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives
• Ensures adequate supplies of tools, equipment, and materials needed to complete jobs are at work sites as required
