The Canteen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the canteen, ensuring a high standard of food service, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene, managing staff, and handling inventory.
Key Responsibilities
Staff Management
- Supervise and schedule canteen staff, ensuring that the team is well-trained and motivated.
- Conduct regular staff performance reviews and provide feedback.
- Ensure all canteen staff adhere to health and safety regulations and hygiene standards.
Food Service Operations
- Oversee the preparation and serving of food, ensuring timely delivery and quality service.
- Ensure that food is stored, prepared, and served in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional manner.
Inventory Management
- Order and manage food and beverage supplies, maintaining optimal stock levels.
- Perform regular stock checks to ensure sufficient inventory and minimize waste.
- Ensure the proper storage and rotation of food items according to established standards.
Customer Service
- Ensure a high standard of customer service at all times, responding to customer feedback and resolving issues promptly.
- Promote a welcoming and positive atmosphere for customers.
Menu Planning
- Work with management or relevant teams to plan daily menus.
- Ensure that the menu offers variety and meets the dietary requirements of all customers.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in hospitality, food safety, or management preferred.
- Previous experience working in food service or hospitality, ideally with supervisory responsibilities.
- Knowledge of food preparation, health and safety standards, and customer service.
Skills and Competencies
