Overview of the Role
The Cafe Manager, SEA, will report to the Retail & Cafe Lead, SEA, and play a key role in the overall strategic development of Ralph’s Coffee cafes in SEA. This person will be overall responsible and have a crucial focus on enhancing and delivering business strategies, business developments, operational excellence, elevating customer experience in the cafes, and driving business results through effective team management and leadership. The Cafe Manager must have a thorough understanding of the food and beverage and coffee industry in SEA, primarily Singapore and Malaysia.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic and Business Focus
- Work closely with the Senior Management to establish and achieve sales and margin goals, develop operating budgets and monitor performance
- Lead the Cafe Supervisors to maximise sales and profit performance
- Drive the business with strategic planning and execution in relation to achieving business objectives and building brand loyalty
- Drive the company’s promotional strategies and programs, assuring that they support the overall sales and profit objectives
- Work closely with internal departments in relation to marketing, operations, people, finance and customer experience to achieve business objectives
- Proactively be updated on relevant market demographics, current and emerging trends and competitors
Operational Excellence
- Lead the cafe team to achieve and maintain adherence to store operating procedures and company’s policies
- Responsible for compliance with local laws, licensing and health and safety regulations relating to the overall operations of the cafés
- Identify potential areas for improvements in store operations and merchandise flow to maximise the business’ performance
- Proactively ensure that the stock inventory level is appropriate and balanced
- Build and maintain relationships with the mall management and vendors
- Ensure that the café team has a strong focus on delivering customer excellence
- Work closely with internal departments to leverage on tools and resources for operational excellence
- Responsible for the reports and presentations relating to department significance
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead and motivate a high-performance café team to achieve business objectives
- Foster an inspiring environment for engagement and learning that empowers people to realize their full potential and others to emerge as leaders

- Responsible for the ongoing evaluation, development, mentorship and training of the café team
- Holds direct reports accountable for goals, providing constant and constructive feedback, action planning and formal performance management if required
- Monitor and support a proactive clientele-based selling culture, tapping on the available resources for coaching and development
- Work closely with the Learning & Development team to close the gaps
- Be a role model for professional etiquette through integrity, honesty and respect for others
Requirements
- Preferably holding a Degree/ Diploma in Hospitality Management, Business or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of F&B/Cafe management experience, or in a similar capacity
- Strong business acumen, with excellent leadership and problem-solving skills
- Enthusiasm and ability to build and maintain an environment which projects a high level of sophistication consistent with Ralph Lauren's lifestyle philosophy
- High level of interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated individual and a team player with the ability to work with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Able to work retail operating hours, which will include weekends and Public Holidays
- Open to business travels within SEA, primarily Malaysia
