Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in Singapore is looking for a CAD Engineer/Technologist (Civil and Infrastructure). Responsibilities include producing technical plans, preparing survey plans, and ensuring compliance with local standards. Candidates should have a Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering and 3-5 years of experience in civil works, along with proficiency in AutoCAD. The position offers a permanent contract with a salary of up to $5500 plus performance bonuses.

Job description
  • Position: CAD Engineer/Technologist (Civil and Infrastructure) – ALL WELCOME
  • Location: Tuas South Street
  • Working hours: 5 days a week 8:00 am – 5:45 pm (Monday – Friday)
  • Salary (commensurate with experience): Basic Salary Up to $5500 + Performance Bonus
  • Duration: Permanent

Main Responsibilities
  • Produce tender technical logistics and sequence plans, plus VE visuals, working with the Technical Manager as part of the technical team
  • Prepare precise architectural, structural, electrical and mechanical survey plans, shop/as‑built sets, and detailed drawings with AutoCAD or similar tools
  • Prepare topographical maps for civil works; produce survey setting‑out plans, longitudinal sections and cross‑sections for submission; and develop engineering plans with sectional details
  • Draft civil and infrastructure works efficiently in AutoCAD, meeting local and international design standards
  • Revise drawings as required, based on project requirements, site conditions, or feedback from the project team, clients and consultants
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and project managers to ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, relevant codes / standards, and client requirements
  • Participate in design coordination meetings and provide technical input on constructability and technical‑related issues
  • Provide technical support to engineers, coordinators, and site teams
  • Perform routine site checks to ensure construction aligns with approved designs, contract specs, safety rules, and quality
  • Recommend corrective actions and VE improvements when deviations from scope, schedule, or quality arise
  • Ensure detailing complies with regulations and standards, and verify all designs and details before submission to the client or authorities
  • Create, update, and interpret architectural drawings to support timely construction
  • Maintain accurate documentation and version control for models and drawings, and extract 2D drawings, schedules, and quantities from the models
  • Assist in conducting clash detection, model reviews, and design validation exercises
Requirements
  • At least a Diploma / Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field
  • +3‑5 years of experience in Civil and Structural works, preferably with main contractors
  • AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software or tools. Knowledge of BIM related execution plans, standards, and coordination processes a plus
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance (codes and standards (BCA, SCDF, LTA, PUB, URA requirements), ISO/bizSAFE/GGBS)
  • Commercial VE acumen, cost awareness, attention driven with strong critical thinking skills, and disciplined systems control (documents and data tracking)
