Buyer (Indirect & Spare Parts Purchasing)

The Buyer will play a crucial role in our company’s success by strategically sourcing and purchasing goods and materials (Indirect & Spare Parts Purchasing) to meet our business needs. You will be responsible for the entire procurement process from researching and evaluating potential suppliers to negotiating contracts and managing the order fulfillment process.

Responsibilities
  • Sourcing & Procurement
    • Identify and evaluate suppliers for indirect materials and spare parts.
    • Request and analyze quotes, negotiate pricing, and ensure best value.
    • Process purchase requisitions in Ariba and purchase orders (POs) in ERP/SAP systems and track deliveries.
    • Support vendor selection based on quality, cost, and lead time.
  • Supplier & Inventory Management
    • Maintain supplier relationships and monitor performance (OTIF, quality, etc.).
    • Coordinate with warehouse and end‑users to ensure stock availability.
    • Assist in minimizing obsolete stock and optimizing inventory levels.
  • Cost Control & Compliance
    • Identify cost‑saving opportunities (bulk discounts, alternate suppliers).
    • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and contract terms.
    • Maintain accurate records (POs, invoices, contracts) for audits.
  • Cross‑functional Coordination
    • Liaise with maintenance operations and finance teams for demand planning.
    • Resolve discrepancies (delays, quality issues) with suppliers and internal teams.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of working experience in a buyer, procurement, or purchasing role in a technically‑oriented manufacturing or supply chain environment.
  • Knowledge of spare parts/indirect purchase for manufacturing lines is preferable.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a data‑driven approach to decision‑making.
  • Strong understanding of cost analysis and cost‑reduction methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in MS Office and functional aspects of SAP MM and e‑Purchasing tools.
