The Opportunity

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive commercial growth across APAC and the Greater China region for a Global Pharmaceutical Solutions organisation involved in drug discovery, diagnostics, clinical trials to commercialisation.

This is a strategic role designed for a proactive, relationship-focused professional who can expand market presence, build trusted client partnerships, and support the delivery of high-quality outsourced solutions to biopharma customers.

Operating as an individual contributor, you will play a key role in strengthening our foothold in one of the industry’s most dynamic and high-potential markets.

About the Role

Based in Singapore, you will be responsible for managing and expanding a portfolio of clients within China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. You will act as a key commercial interface between regional customers and internal technical teams, ensuring solutions are aligned with client needs across clinical supply, development services, and related technical offerings.

The role requires periodic travel within the region to support client meetings, conferences, and business-development initiatives.

What You Will Do
  • Develop and execute a growth strategy to expand new and existing business across the Greater China market.
  • Build, manage, and deepen relationships with key biopharma, biotech, and healthcare stakeholders in the region.
  • Identify client requirements and provide guidance on the technical aspects of service offerings, including API manufacturing, clinical supply, clinical-trial technology, R&D, diagnostics, formulation & commercial manufacturing, and launch services.
  • Lead the preparation of quotations, proposals, and commercial presentations in collaboration with internal scientific, operational, and project teams.
  • Represent the organisation at industry events, conferences, and customer engagements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, forecasts, and activity reports within CRM and internal systems.
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitive activity, and regulatory changes relevant to the China clinical and pharmaceutical landscape.
  • Travel to China and neighbouring markets to support business activities.
What You Should Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Science, Life Sciences, Business, or related disciplines preferred).
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within the pharmaceutical, clinical research, medical technology, or healthcare sectors.
  • Demonstrate exposure in developing business within the Greater China region.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience preparing quotations, proposals, and client presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills in Mandarin Chinese (written and verbal) to engage effectively with the client base in China.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to engage stakeholders at multiple levels.
What’s on Offer
  • An opportunity to take ownership of a key growth market within a globally respected life sciences organisation.
  • Exposure to innovative service offerings and collaboration with highly experienced technical teams.
  • Competitive compensation package with performance incentives.
  • Professional development and career-advancement opportunities within a fast-expanding global business.
  • Supportive, collaborative culture with strong investment in people and long-term growth.
