About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Business Development Manager / Director to join our leadership team and drive our data services business and our B2B growth across institutional clients.

Your responsibilities
  • Identify, target, and acquire institutional clients including banks, financial institutions, hedge funds, trading firms, asset managers, and research institutions.
  • Identify, target, and acquire clients who might purchase Birdeye’s data services.
  • Develop and execute B2B sales strategies to achieve revenue and client growth targets.
  • Manage the entire sales lifecycle - from prospecting and pitching to negotiation, closing, and ongoing relationship management.
Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystem Building
  • Identify and structure partnership opportunities with industry players (e.g., data providers, fintech platforms, exchanges, analytics firms) that expand Birdeye’s reach and enhance product value.
  • Negotiate partnership terms, joint initiatives, and co-marketing arrangements.
  • Support business model innovation, including API licensing, white-label offerings, or data partnerships.
  • Conduct ongoing market research to identify emerging trends, client needs, and competitive developments in the crypto, fintech, and financial data sectors.
  • Act as the “voice of the customer” internally — providing structured feedback to the product and engineering teams to inform feature roadmaps and product-market fit.
  • Participate in product ideation sessions and help define value propositions that resonate with institutional users.
Brand Representation & Thought Leadership
  • Represent Birdeye at industry conferences, networking events, and closed-door roundtables to strengthen brand visibility and credibility.
  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers, industry influencers, and ecosystem partners.
  • Contribute to thought leadership content such as webinars, whitepapers, and presentations.
What we’re looking for
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, institutional sales, partnerships, or strategy roles - ideally in fintech, data analytics, crypto, SaaS, or financial services.
  • Strong network or proven track record of selling to banks, hedge funds, asset managers, trading firms, or research organizations.
  • Experience in data-as-a-service (DaaS), API-based products, or SaaS platforms preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills - comfortable pitching technical products to senior decision-makers.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to structure complex partnerships and explore new revenue models.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-driven, and excited about working in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Passion for financial technology, crypto, or blockchain innovation is a strong plus.
