Role overview

The Business Development Executive (Staffing) is responsible for acquiring new clients and growing revenue for the company’s staffing and recruitment services (permanent, contract, etc.). The role works closely with recruitment/delivery teams to translate client requirements into successful hires and long‑term partnerships.

Key responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the staffing / IT staffing market through cold outreach, networking, referrals, and online channels (LinkedIn, job portals, events).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with HR, hiring managers, procurement, and business heads in target accounts.
  • Understand client hiring needs, workforce plans, and pain points; position suitable staffing solutions (permanent, contract, C2H, offshore/onsite, etc.).
  • Coordinate with internal recruitment teams to ensure timely submission of quality profiles, interview coordination, and smooth onboarding.
  • Prepare and deliver capability presentations, proposals, and commercials; negotiate rates, margins, and terms to close deals.
  • Achieve monthly/quarterly targets for new client acquisition, revenue, and gross margin; maintain an accurate sales pipeline and forecasts in CRM.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and rate benchmarks; share insights with management and suggest new segments or service offerings.
Required skills and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, HR, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in business development / sales in staffing or recruitment (IT staffing experience preferred where relevant).
  • Good understanding of end‑to‑end recruitment processes, common hiring models, and basic HR practices.
  • Proven track record in acquiring new clients, managing accounts, and meeting sales/revenue targets in a staffing environment.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills; ability to engage with mid‑ to senior‑level stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and MS Office; comfortable using LinkedIn and other digital platforms for prospecting and research.
Nice to have

Prior experience in IT staffing with familiarity of common IT roles (developers, testers, cloud, data, project managers, etc.).

Experience working with international markets (US, Europe, APAC) and offshore/onsite delivery models.
