Role Summary
The Operational Risk Business Analyst manages the full lifecycle of system projects, from defining requirements to implementation, ensuring alignment with business needs and successful delivery. This role involves extensive stakeholder collaboration, system support, and contributing to strategic transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management & Delivery
- Manage the definition of project scope, objectives, and deliverables, developing comprehensive project plans and timelines.
- Proactively monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement corrective actions to ensure timely and in-scope project completion.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive project documentation, including functional integration flows.
2. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Orchestrate cross-functional collaboration with development, testing, and other key stakeholders to gather essential data and insights.
- Communicate project updates and findings to senior management and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Engage regularly with business stakeholders to understand evolving system needs and strategic priorities.
- Cultivate strong stakeholder relationships through effective communication of project status, findings, and strategic updates.
3. Business Analysis & Technical Liaison
- Translate business requirements into detailed development scopes.
- Perform impact analyses to identify inter-dependencies for communication, mitigation, and planning.
- Collaborate with delivery partners throughout the design, build, and test phases to ensure project alignment.
- Perform user acceptance testing, culminating in successful implementation.
4. System Support & Operations
- Coordinate system support activities, encompassing production issue resolution, investigations, data patching, and communication.
5. Strategic Initiatives & Innovation
- Contribute to transformative initiatives, including automation, experimentation, data analytics, and the integration of AI/GenAI solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field.
- Basic knowledge of banking products, risk management, and processes.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience.
- Proven project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.
- Candidates with competencies in tools (e.g., JIRA, Qlik Sense, Python, Spark, SQL) would be an advantage.
- Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint for data presentation and storytelling.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
- A pleasant personality and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
