Job description

Responsibilities

• Work closely with stakeholders and users to understand, probe and document business requirements.
• Craft detailed user journeys and use cases to illustrate how different types of users will interact with our systems and data.
• Translate business requirements and user journeys into functional specifications and detailed data requirements.
• Work closely with data engineers to design and implement data solutions that align with the defined user journeys and meet operational needs.
• Design, develop and execute testing to ensure solution is working per design and meet user requirements.
• Ensure user and solution to be developed incorporate data management best practices on top of user requirements.
• Conduct data analysis to ensure data quality and consistency, and to validate that the implemented solutions meet user needs.
• Develop and maintain documentation, including data dictionaries, process flows, user journeys, and project plans.
• Assist with data governance and data management initiatives.
• Monitor system performance and work with data engineers to manage any necessary system enhancements or fixes, ensuring that changes align with the defined user journeys.
• Work closely with data engineers and relevant parties to ensure sprints are planned out properly and completed timely.
• Perform BAU monitoring, investigations and resolutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related field with at least 8 years of relevant working experience and at least 8 years of hands-on experience in data management or business analyst role within investment and banking industry.
• Experience crafting user journeys and use cases and using them to guide system design and implementation.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python and experience with other data analysis tools.
• Excellent communication and written skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts into understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skill and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Good at working with details and is meticulous for operations.
• Good understanding and knowledge in data modelling and data integration.
• Experience in System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology and/or Agile methodologies (like Scrum and Kanban).
• A good team player with a growth mindset and the ability to work independently.
