Job summary

A construction company in Singapore is seeking an experienced painter to perform various painting tasks, including surface preparations and applying finishes. The ideal candidate must have a thorough knowledge of painting materials and techniques, be flexible to work after regular hours, and show great attention to detail. This role requires working on weekends and potentially at night.

Qualifications

• Must be available to work after regular schedule.
• Must be able to work on weekends and public holidays if needed.
• Must be flexible for any shift (Night/Day).

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces for necessary work.
• Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding.
• Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping and removing old paint.
• Fill cracks and holes with appropriate materials.
• Mix paint and materials to achieve desired colors.
• Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools.
• Apply varnish and other finishes.
• Calculate costs and negotiate prices.
• Adhere to health and safety precautions.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints/instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary
• Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.
• Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, usings and paper, removing old paint etc.
• Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. plaster)
• Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right colour or texture
• Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools
• Apply varnish and other finishes
• Calculate costs and negotiate prices
• Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions

Requirements

• Must be work after regular schedule.
• Must be work Sat/Sun/Public holiday (if needed)
• Must be work at any shift (Night/Day)
• Proven experience as a painter
• Excellent knowledge of painting material and how to select, mix and apply them
• Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques
• Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)
• Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.
• Conscientious with great attention to details
