Detailed Job Description:

As a Build Engineer / Linux Administrator supporting Decimal BS in Singapore, you will take full operational, tactical, and technical ownership of Linux server administration, VMware ESXi/vCenter management, server builds, and infrastructure automation. Your day-to-day responsibilities include administering enterprise Linux server operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Oracle Linux, Ubuntu), managing VMware virtualization environments including ESXi, vSphere, and vCenter, executing end-to-end server builds, hardware configuration, and infrastructure deployments, handling virtual machine provisioning, cross-cluster migration, and performance optimization, implementing OS patching, software upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening protocols, authoring automation scripts and configuration management workflows utilizing Bash, Shell, Python, or Ansible, conducting rigorous infrastructure troubleshooting and tier-2/tier-3 production support, managing incident, problem, and change management workflows, collaborating closely with cross-functional software engineering, database, and security squads, and ensuring strict compliance with enterprise security baselines and uptime SLAs. You will utilize your proactive troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills to resolve complex infrastructure anomalies under strict operational timelines. Key Responsibilities:

• Administer, patch, harden, and maintain enterprise Linux server environments including RHEL, CentOS, Oracle Linux, and Ubuntu.
• Manage and optimize VMware virtualization infrastructure encompassing ESXi hosts, vSphere clusters, and vCenter management servers.
• Execute end-to-end server builds, hardware configuration, physical-to-virtual conversions, and infrastructure deployments.
• Provision, migrate, tune, and optimize virtual machines for maximum CPU, memory, and storage performance.
• Perform routine operating system patching, version upgrades, security vulnerability remediation, and CIS benchmark hardening.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and configuration playbooks utilizing Bash, Shell, Python, or Ansible.
• Provide expert-level infrastructure troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and production support for complex system incidents.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 5 to 8 years of progressive professional experience in Linux administration, VMware virtualization, and infrastructure engineering.
• Strong, demonstrable hands-on professional expertise in enterprise Linux server administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
• Comprehensive working knowledge of VMware virtualization technologies including ESXi, vSphere, and vCenter configuration.
