Job description

To attend and coordinate all vessel-related matters on behalf of the shipping agency at Singapore ports and anchorages, ensuring smooth turnaround of vessels while complying with port regulations, agency standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Vessel Attendance: Board vessels at port, anchorage, or shipyard to handle arrival, stay, and departure formalities. Coordinate and liaise with port authorities (MPA, ICA, Immigration, Customs) for clearance procedures. Handle ship’s documents and endorsements (crew lists, cargo manifests, port clearance, etc.).
  • Crew Change Assistance: Assist with embarkation and disembarkation of crew, including immigration documentation and logistics. Escort crew for medical visits, hotel check-ins, or airport transfers when required.
  • Operational Coordination: Coordinate with master, agents, port operators, and other stakeholders for bunker supply, stores delivery, repairs, surveys, garbage disposal, and other ship services. Ensure all necessary port formalities and arrangements are executed on time.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Submit timely updates and reports to the operations team and clients (e.g., vessel ETA/ETD, delays, issues). Accurately record all services rendered and documentation handled.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure full compliance with Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) regulations. Maintain safe conduct while boarding vessels, including use of PPE and following ISPS code.
Requirements:
  • Min Secondary Education / GCE ‘O’ / ‘N’ Level or Diploma in Maritime Studies or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in marine operations / as a boarding officer or a Newbie.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends, public holidays, and night if necessary.
  • Able to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills and presentable demeanor (as you represent the company onboard).
  • Physically fit to board vessels via pilot ladder or gangway at anchorage or port.
  • Pleasant Personality / Obedient / Fast Learner.
