An exciting and new opportunity has opened to join the Bloomberg Product Oversight team in Asia. This critical team dives deep into the very roots of our client’s workflow to get a comprehensive understanding of their business. The team aligns client workflow and data consumption with the appropriate contractual framework and Bloomberg offering, protecting both our clients and Bloomberg. With both a consultative and analytical approach, they examine client data workflows, content licensing frameworks and strategic initiatives working closely across all internal lines of business. With such close proximity to our clients, the team is at the forefront of being able to provide business and product gaps to our management to better improve our offerings.

What’s the Role?

In this role, you will have a customer-focused mindset, actively engaging with clients to understand their workflows towards the goal of Bloomberg products being used to their full potential. By leveraging your market knowledge across multiple asset classes, you will build a deep understanding of customer data usage, enabling you to identify opportunities for product adoption and potential misuse. Your attention to detail and energy for exploring customer needs will drive your ability to uncover insights and deliver exceptional user experience.

You will manage stakeholder relationships across the global team, analysts, enterprise sales, product and analytics partners. You will actively share ideas in global forums, creating a collaborative environment to build a strong community of discussion. Additionally, you will take ownership of initiatives such as sandbox demos, workbook registrations, and proactive call lists, influencing product adoption and driving positive outcomes. As part of a global team, you will work to improve processes, including through training and collaboration with product teams, ensuring continuous learning and personal growth.

In this role, you will be encouraged to challenge assumptions, influencing change where needed and driving continuous improvement, both for your team and the broader organization. You’ll also advocate for the BPO mission, collaborating across departments and helping to attract top talent to ensure maximum impact.

You’ll need to have:
  • Business proficiency in English and business proficiency in either Japanese or Mandarin
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a client-facing role, with a strong preference for candidates with more extensive experience
  • Experience in the financial markets with a good understanding of the financial services workflow across front, middle, and back office
  • A strong interest working in audit and compliance
  • Thrive on a fast-paced team, whilst demonstrating adaptability in a constantly evolving environment
  • A familiarity and interest with data content and licensing frameworks
  • The ambition to take ownership and responsibility of projects from start to finish
  • Effective stakeholder management across departments and seniority levels

We'll trust you to:

To Start:
  • You will be speaking to our customers daily for a deep understanding of their data needs and the workflows associated
  • Have a good knowledge of the Bloomberg product solutions to guide or recommend to customers
  • Proven ability to multi-task efficiently
Within the first 6 months:
  • You will understand our licensing frameworks for all products to identify and prevent misuse
  • The ability to identify programmatic connections into Bloomberg’s Desktop API.
  • Know when to positionalternative solutions available in the terminal.
  • Identify trends/themes around player types, data needs, and licensing gaps for management reporting and strategy
  • Be able to question usage anomalies on desktop or via terminal
Within the first year:
  • Have a good understanding of PMS, OMS, EMS workflows and the data required for each
  • The ability to build and utilize a dashboard in Qlik or other data platforms for proactive strategies
  • Leverage understanding of workflows to ask better questions and provide feedback into the risk score and terminal anomaly score
  • Have good knowledge of BQL, BQuant, and Python with the broader implications of usage
  • Provide training across a broad audience including sales, analytics, and support for collaboration and recruitment
We’d love to see:
  • Business proficiency in an additional Asian language such as Korean
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg products such as BQL, BQuant, and the Desktop API.
  • Experience using data visualization tools (e.g., Qlik, Tableau) or scripting languages such as Python.
  • A passion for continuous improvement, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong customer-centric mindset, with empathy, curiosity, and active listening skills.
  • Interest in developing training materials or supporting knowledge-sharing across teams.
