Biomedical Engineer, 3D Printing Centre (1-year contract)

Responsibilities
  • Plan, set up, and execute mechanical and biomechanical tests on components, prototypes, and assemblies
  • Operate and maintain Instron or equivalent mechanical testing systems (tensile, compression, fatigue, and shear testing)
  • Analyze and present test results using Excel, MATLAB, or equivalent platforms — including data plotting, statistical summaries, and trend analysis
  • Prepare technical reports, visual summaries, and presentations to communicate test outcomes effectively
  • Collaborate with design and development teams to integrate test feedback into the product lifecycle
Job Qualification
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of biomechanical principles and experience in mechanical and materials testing
  • Proficient in the use of Instron or equivalent test systems for tensile, compression, and fatigue testing
  • Skilled in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, MATLAB, Python, Origin, etc.)
  • Experience in medical device, biomechanics, or materials R&D environments
  • Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA) or digital image correlation (DIC) techniques
  • Understanding of quality systems and regulatory frameworks (ISO 13485, FDA)
  • Experience with CAD or 3D modeling software for illustrating test setups or designs
