Job summary

A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research is looking for a talented Software Engineer to join their Biomedical Data Hub team in Singapore. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-performance microservices using Python, as well as building data ingestion pipelines and RESTful APIs for biomedical data. Candidates should have at least 2 years of software development experience and a relevant degree. Join a mission-driven project that impacts biomedical research significantly.

Qualifications

• Minimum bachelor's degree or diploma in computer science, computer engineering, or a related web programming intensive course.
• Expertise in at least one of the following areas: creating, maintaining, or implementing RESTful APIs, front-end development, microservices architecture.
• 2+ years of experience in software development, with strong proficiency in Python (and/or Node.js) and its data processing ecosystem (e.g. Pandas, SQLAlchemy).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain high-performance, containerised microservices using Python (FastAPI) for the BDH digital platform.
• Build and manage data ingestion pipelines for structured and unstructured biomedical data.
• Create and maintain RESTful APIs for data upload, query, and ETL processes.
