Job description
Job Summary

The BIM Modeler will be responsible for creating, developing, and maintaining accurate and detailed Building Information Models (BIM) for architectural and structural disciplines throughout the project lifecycle. This role requires a strong understanding of both architectural design principles and structural engineering concepts, alongside proficiency in leading BIM software. The BIM Modeler will play a crucial role in enhancing design coordination, facilitating clash detection, and producing high-quality construction documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • BIM Model Creation and Development:
    • Develop detailed 3D BIM models for architectural and structural elements from design drawings, sketches, and specifications.
    • Ensure models are accurate, clash‑free, and adhere to project standards, BIM Execution Plans (BEP), and industry best practices.
    • Integrate architectural and structural models with other disciplines (e.g., MEP, civil) to create a comprehensive federated model.
    • Develop discipline‑specific BIM content and families as required.
  • Coordination and Collaboration:
    • Participate actively in BIM coordination meetings, identify clashes and inconsistencies between architectural, structural, and other discipline models, and propose solutions.
    • Collaborate effectively with architects, structural engineers, other discipline modelers, project managers, and construction teams to ensure design intent and constructability.
    • Communicate design changes and model updates to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Documentation and Deliverables:
    • Generate high‑quality 2D drawings, plans, sections, elevations, schedules, and details directly from the BIM models for various project stages (e.g., tender, construction, shop drawings, as‑built).
    • Assist in producing material take‑offs and quantity schedules from the BIM models.
    • Ensure all documentation is consistent with the model and project standard.
  • Quality Control and Assurance:
    • Conduct regular quality checks and audits of BIM models to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company and project standards.
    • Implement and uphold BIM standards, protocols, and workflows throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Maintain organized BIM documentation, version control, and file management.
  • Problem Solving and Support:
    • Troubleshoot and resolve any BIM‑related issues or challenges that arise during the modeling process.
    • Provide technical support and guidance on BIM software and workflows to other team members as needed.
    • Stay updated with the latest BIM technologies, software advancements, and industry trends.
Qualifications
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3‑5 years of proven experience as a BIM Modeler, specifically with architectural and structural projects, preferably in large‑scale infrastructure or building construction.
    • Experience working on complex and multi‑disciplinary projects is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expert level proficiency in Autodesk Revit (Architectural and Structural modules).
    • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage (for clash detection and coordination), and potentially Civil 3D or other structural analysis software.
    • Familiarity with BIM 360 or similar cloud‑based collaboration platforms.
    • Understanding of Level of Development (LOD) concepts in BIM.
    • Knowledge of relevant building codes, construction methods, and industry standards.
    • Knowledge of Dynamo or other visual programming tools for BIM automation.
    • Experience with international BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650).
    • Experience in 4D (scheduling) and 5D (cost estimation) BIM applications.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and precision in modeling tasks.
    • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong collaboration and teamwork abilities.
    • Analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills to identify and resolve design and modeling issues.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
    • Highly motivated, proactive, and results oriented.
