Job Description
- This role reports to the Head of Bid Management and Commercial & Contract Management.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of contract and bid management, from pre-sales through post-award phases.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with sales, bid teams, and senior stakeholders to ensure alignment with customer tender requirements.
- Evaluate and provide guidance on commercial, legal, financial, and third-party risks associated with proposals.
- Secure internal approvals within tight submission deadlines, ensuring compliance with governance protocols.
- Review and finalize comprehensive tender documents and contractual agreements with clients and partners.
- Act as a problem-solver for bid-related challenges, guiding teams toward effective, compliant solutions.
- Minimize financial and operational exposure by improving the quality of commercial and legal terms in contracts.
- Safeguard key commercial positions during negotiations to avoid unfavorable commitments.
- Enhance internal compliance and governance processes, including conducting audits of bid and contract practices.
- Lead negotiations and drafting of complex ICT and telecom agreements, including hybrid deal structures.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Bid and Commercial Manager should have:
- At least 5 years of experience in drafting and negotiating a wide range of customer and third-party agreements (e.g., RFPs, NDAs, MOUs, MSAs, SOWs, etc.).
- Proven track record in managing large-scale tenders and back-to-back contract negotiations.
- Background in telecommunications and ICT sectors is essential.
- Holds a degree in Law, Business, Contract Management, or a related discipline (legal qualifications are a strong advantage).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively across all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and operational teams.
