A bakery company in Singapore is seeking a Bakery Baker responsible for the preparation, baking, and finishing of bakery products. The ideal candidate should have prior experience, an understanding of baking techniques, and a strong focus on quality. The responsibilities include baking a variety of products, ensuring quality, and complying with food safety standards. This role requires teamwork in a fast-paced environment, as well as physical fitness for kitchen tasks.
The Bakery Baker is responsible for the preparation, baking, and finishing of bakery products in accordance with company recipes, quality standards, and food safety requirements. This role requires consistency, discipline, and attention to detail to ensure all baked goods meet taste, texture, and presentation expectations in a fast‑paced production environment.
Prepare and bake cakes, slab cakes, breads, and traditional pastries according to standard recipes and production schedules
Measure and mix ingredients accurately to ensure consistency and cost control
Operate baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, and proofers safely and correctly
Monitor baking times, temperatures, and product quality throughout production
Perform finishing tasks including trimming, slicing, glazing, or basic decoration where required
Ensure all products meet company standards for taste, texture, appearance, and portion size
Identify and report any quality issues, ingredient inconsistencies, or equipment malfunctions
Follow FIFO (First-In-First-Out) principles and minimise wastage
Maintain consistency across batches and production days
Comply strictly with food hygiene, safety, and sanitation regulations
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and equipment at all times
Practice proper food handling, storage, and labelling procedures
Follow all internal SOPs, recipes, and safety guidelines
Assist in daily mise en place and preparation of ingredients
Support stock checks for ingredients, premixes, and baking supplies
Notify Supervisor of low stock levels or potential shortages
Assist with receiving and proper storage of ingredients when required
Work closely with other bakers and front‑of‑house staff to meet daily demand
Support opening and closing kitchen duties
Assist in training junior bakers or kitchen assistants when assigned
Perform other ad‑hoc duties as required by the Supervisor or Management
Prior experience as a baker, assistant baker, or kitchen staff in a bakery or F&B environment is preferred
Basic understanding of baking techniques, measurements, and oven operations
Ability to follow standardised recipes and production schedules
Familiarity with food hygiene and safety practices
Detail‑oriented with a strong focus on consistency and quality
Physically fit and able to stand for long hours in a hot kitchen environment
Responsible, punctual, and reliable
Willing to learn, take instructions, and improve skills
Team player with a disciplined and professional attitude
Able to lift and carry baking trays, ingredient bags, and equipment
Comfortable with early morning shifts, weekends, and public holidays
Able to work in a fast‑paced production kitchen
Food Hygiene Certificate
Experience in cake‑focused or production‑scale bakery
Experience using premixes and standardised production systems
