Job description
BAKER JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a talented and organized Baker Commis. As our baker commis, you will prepare a variety of baked goods. You will follow existing recipes, and prepare large quantities of breads and viennoiseries. You will also be responsible for maintaining and cleaning all baking equipment. Basic computer basic knowledge is a must as Printing out of Orders on a Daily Basis is part of the Job.

BAKER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Follow existing standard recipes.
  • Measure, weigh, and prepare ingredients.
  • Knead, roll, cut, and prepare dough as need.
  • Monitor oven temperatures, speed settings, mixing machines, and other baking equipment in accordance to Standard Operating procedures.
  • Ensure food surfaces and baking equipment meet all health and safety standards.
  • Clean and maintain baking equipment, utensils, and tools.
  • Monitor items during mixing, proofing and baking. Record the Temperature in a Log sheet.
  • Decorate, glaze, Pipe or apply icing in baked goods if needed.
  • Evaluate ingredients and food for quality.
  • Adapt the quantity of ingredients and match the amount of items to be produce.
  • Operate slicing, cutting, and wrapping equipment.
  • Order and receive supplies, goods, and materials.
  • Prepare and Pack baked goods for Deliveries. Coordinate with Drivers.
  • Arrange stocks, baked goods and supplies in freezer, chillers or Dry storage.
  • Printing out of Orders and Basic Recipe on a daily basis and File them properly.
  • Participate in Inventory Stocks Counting.
  • Perform other duties required by the Head Baker or Supervisor.
BAKER QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a chef, baker’s assistant, or relevant work experience.
  • Culinary Certificate is a Plus
  • Able to work early mornings, nights, midnight shifts and weekends.
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Basic math skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
  • Physical endurance to stand for entire shift.
  • Team player, Self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Works well as part of a team and on individual tasks.
  • Physically able to move during the length of shift; able to lift up to 25 kg or more.
  • Familiarity with professional kitchen equipment such as dough sheeter, dough slicer, dough divider, dough roller, Heavy Duty Mixers and Ovens.
  • Knowledge of sanitation procedures, and state health and safety precautions and regulations.
