Job summary

A local logistics firm in Singapore is seeking a dedicated operations coordinator to manage baggage handling processes at Changi Airport. Responsibilities include updating operational databases, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with safety measures. The ideal candidate should possess at least an NITEC qualification and relevant experience in airport operations, as well as a Class 3 driving license preferred. Shift work and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an airline/airport operations environment, preferably 2 years.
  • Must be on-site in the baggage handling area.
  • Prefer to have Class 3 driving license.
  • Airline/airport scheduling experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Implement seasonal schedule updates in operational database.
  • Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Update Baggage Information and Flight Information Displays.
  • Troubleshoot scheduling conflicts as they arise.
  • Coordinate real-time operational changes in Baggage Handling Area.

Contract Details
  • Contract: 1 year (Renewable/Convertible)
  • Working Location: Changi Airport
  • Working Hours: 2 days’ work, 2 days off shift cycle (8:30am to 8:30pm & 8:30pm to 8:30am). Must commit both shift
  • Salary: $2650 + Completion Bonus + Increment
Job Responsibilities
  • Implementing the seasonal schedule by ensuring the relevant parties update the operational database with real-time data.
  • Preparing various reports, such as Sitrep, for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manually updating Baggage Information and Flight Information Displays.
  • Troubleshooting multiple, often simultaneous, scheduling conflicts as they arise.
  • Coordinating with Engineering Baggage Control Room for any real time operational changes and challenges in the Baggage Handling Area (BHA).
  • Ensuring Arrival Baggage Presentation performance and mishandling rate are met or exceeds KPI.
  • Ensure the BHA is always kept clean and tidy by working with FM External and other stakeholders.
  • Report to Facilities Management Committee for any issues with the facilities and cleaning.
  • Facilitate Joint Inspections with stakeholders together with Airside Support Officers or higher.
  • Close coordination with all baggage stakeholders for VIP flights and exception handling.
  • Attend to incident on-site and carry out investigation procedures.
  • Perform enforcement works to ensure staff abide to safety and security measurements.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum NITEC with any relevant education.
  • Experience in an airline/airport operations environment (preferably 2 years of experience).
  • Must be on-site in the baggage handling area.
  • Prefer to have Class 3 driving license to drive the baggage truck.
  • Airline/airport scheduling experience an advantage, preferably with gate and baggage scheduling systems.
  • Familiarity with aircraft types and an understanding of Apron & Baggage operations would be an advantage.
  • Must be able to work shift and weekends (if required).
