Job summary

Capgemini Singapore is seeking an experienced backend engineer to design, develop and maintain Java services in end-to-end processing pipelines.

You will implement microservices with Spring, work with Kafka for event-driven architectures, and ensure security, reliability and performance through best practices and code reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3–7 years hands-on backend development experience in Java.
• Proficiency in Java (JDK 17+), Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and RESTful API design.
• Experience with Kafka or similar messaging platforms.
• Knowledge of multithreading, concurrency, and performance tuning.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.
• Understanding of security standards (OAuth2, JWT) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop Java services integrated in end-to-end processing.
• Design and code robust, secure APIs to persist/retrieve data and implement business logic.
• Provide L3 production support and participate in code reviews.
• Provide technical leadership and influence architectural decisions.
• Communicate effectively with product, QA, and infrastructure teams.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and audit requirements for financial systems.
• Design microservices using Spring ecosystem and event-driven architecture with Kafka.

Ensure code quality using design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean coding practices.
