Job summary

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java or Go as primary language.
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, APIs, testing, debugging, and version control.
• Ability to understand and safely modify an existing codebase.
• Experience writing automated tests and diagnosing defects; familiarity with distributed systems.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly and collaborate with other engineers.
• Demonstrated ownership of well-defined engineering tasks and drive to completion.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain production backend software, primarily using Java or Go
• Deliver well-scoped features and technical improvements with increasing independence
• Build and improve services, APIs, libraries, and tooling that support access workflows and platform capabilities
• Write clear, maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code/design reviews
• Debug production issues and perform root-cause analysis across services and boundaries
• Improve system reliability, observability, performance, security, and operational readiness
• Participate in monitoring and incident response where applicable
• Collaborate with product, security, infra, and other engineering teams to understand requirements
• Contribute to technical documentation, runbooks, standards, and team best practices
• Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt and simplify existing systems
• Seek and incorporate feedback to grow team effectiveness
