Qualifications

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to support our client UOB on a 3-month contract. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems and APIs that power digital banking applications. This role requires hands‑on backend development expertise and collaboration with cross‑functional teams to ensure efficient, high‑quality software delivery.

Employment Type: 3-Month Contract
Budget: SGD 6,000 per month (inclusive of CPF and insurance)
Work Location: Onsite – Singapore
End Client: UOB

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and APIs.
  • Collaborate with front‑end developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Optimize applications for maximum performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Implement security and data protection standards across backend systems.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve backend issues efficiently.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews, peer programming, and technical discussions.
  • Contribute to backend architecture improvements and performance tuning.
  • Support deployment automation and CI/CD integration processes.
Skills & Experience

Preferred Experience:

  • Exposure to Kafka or RabbitMQ for message‑based systems.

  • Understanding of DevOps practices and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).
  • Experience in unit testing and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
