Job summary

Arta is building AI-powered financial infrastructure in Singapore and seeks a backend engineer with 6+ years of experience to own services end-to-end—from API design to production reliability—and collaborate with AI coding agents and ML engineers.

You will design scalable backend systems, integrate with financial APIs, and ensure performance, security, and observability. The role includes strong growth, health insurance, parental leave, and generous PTO.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python (or similar).
• Experience with distributed systems, RESTful and/or gRPC APIs, microservices, and databases.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and data pipelines powering the platform.
• Make architectural decisions on system design, data modeling, and infrastructure.
• Write clean, well-tested code and leverage AI coding agents to accelerate delivery.
• Build and integrate LLM/agent-powered backend capabilities to unlock product value.
• Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability across distributed services.
• Integrate with third-party financial APIs, brokerage systems, and cloud infrastructure.
• Set up logging, monitoring, and incident response; participate in on-call duties.
