The Japan Research Institute, Limited (Singapore Branch) seeks an AVP, VAM Business Analyst to lead complex payment and liquidity projects in a banking context. You will elicit requirements, map processes and work with multiple teams to ensure compliant, efficient delivery.

With 10+ years in senior business analysis, you will drive UAM, DR/BCP considerations and vendor engagements while aligning with regulatory and security standards across APAC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, information systems or related field.
• 10+ years as a senior business analyst in banking or financial services.
• Experience delivering complex payment and liquidity projects.
• Strong documentation, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Familiarity with SDLC and Agile Scrum methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Elicit and document high-quality business and functional requirements.
• Perform system/functional analysis to facilitate the functional requirements document (UR)
• Creation of operational workflows, and use cases diagrams
• Contribute towards the relevant sections of the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)
• Provide viable solutions that improve operational efficiency, user experience, and delivers business initiatives
• Review and sign-off the artefacts and solutions produced by the technical teams and vendor
• Conduct feasibility assessments and solicit impact analysis across various systems.
• Manage multiple project deliverables concurrently, ensuring alignment and consistency.
• Collaborate with business, technology, security, operations and compliance teams to drive solution design.
• Identify & Design User roles and User Access Matrix (UAM)
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and issue resolution.
• Provide SIT, UAT, regression testing and rehearsal testing support, to ensure successful implementation of solution
• Drive and document Disaster Recovery (DR) Scenarios and Business Continuity Plans (BCP)
• Manage the the Demand List and engage vendor on release planning.
• Develop new products jointly with other application/project teams
• Contribute towards the end-to-end solutioning for these new products
• To share expertise by providing training and knowledge sharing sessions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Information Systems, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience, with Senior roles as a Business Analyst in the banking industry.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in parallel with strong delivery focus.
• Expertise in Virtual Account Management, cash management, and liquidity solutions. Prior experience in the Virtual Account Management domain and a strong understanding of the payment domain are highly preferable..
• Familiarity with SWIFT MT940/942, ISO 20022, and treasury operations.
• Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Hands-on experience with data/interface mapping and troubleshooting
• Experience managing test team for SIT/UAT/Performance Test planning, execution and Reporting
• Practice of SDLC and/or Agile Scrum, including but not limited to Demand Mgmt, Change Mgmt & Release Mgmt
• Possess strategic thinking skills and business process analysis
• Adept in stakeholder management with strong communication and presentation skills
• Meticulous with good problem solving skills
• Domain Expertise in Corporate Banking
• Experience working in APAC/Asia regional banking will be advantageous
• Familiarity with Oracle OBVAM and/or Oracle OBDX platforms.
• Competent with Cross border & domestic payments schemes, workflows & processing.
• Exposure to Agile methodologies and tools (JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps).
• Strong understanding of API integrations and digital channel implementations will be preferred.
• Certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, or Oracle credentials.
