A leading aerospace engineering firm in Singapore seeks an Aviation Quality Engineer to lead investigations into aviation safety events and support quality assurance initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a CAAS SAR-66 Aircraft Maintenance Licence and between 4 to 6 years of relevant experience. Join our MRO Quality Department’s Investigation Team to lead and support occurrence investigations for our organisation and contracted airlines. You will apply MEDA and Human Factors principles to identify causal/contributing factors, recommend corrective and preventive actions, and ensure timely regulatory and customer reporting.
Key Job Descriptions
Lead and support end-to-end investigations into aviation safety events, ground incidents/accidents and maintenance errors in accordance with MEDA, Human Factors, company SMS and applicable regulations.
Coordinate evidence preservation, data collection, interviews, analysis, causal factor identification, risk assessment and clear, defensible report writing.
Drive Corrective and Preventive Actions: Agreement with owners, implementation, effectiveness verification and on-time closure; maintain investigation records and dashboards.
Liaise and coordinate with airline customers, OEMs and Regulatory Authorities regarding mandatory occurrence reporting and conduct investigations into reported occurrences.
Represent the Division and provide status updates, trends and lessons learned at relevant internal and external forums.
Perform safety trending and data analytics to identify systemic issues and support safety studies.
Provide the necessary support and administration of day-to-day tasks (e.g., issuance of Certificate of Airworthiness Review) for the Division.
Support and/or lead transformation, process improvement and digitalisation projects for the Division.
Provide after-hours/standby support for significant occurrences when required.
Job requirements (Essential)
Possess a valid CAAS SAR-66 Aircraft Maintenance Licence and/or a recognised university degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical or related engineering field.
4 to 6 years of experience in quality assurance, aircraft maintenance or engineering within commercial aviation.
Good understanding of Human Factors fundamentals and principles as applied to maintenance and operations.
Good understanding of various regulatory authorities’ (e.g., CAAS, EASA, FAA, etc.) Part 145 regulatory requirements, including SMS.
Solid working knowledge of commercial aircraft systems, maintenance activities and MRO operations.
IT proficient with strong Microsoft Office skills.
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills; excellent technical writing and communication skills.
Quality and safety inclined; responsible, team‑oriented, resourceful and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent planning and organisational skills; proactive, takes initiative and brings fresh perspectives.
Job Requirements (Preferred/Advantage)
Applicant with investigation-related experience will be an advantage (e.g., Investigating Officer experience with Singapore police force) or from other high-reliability sectors (e.g., rail, maritime, law enforcement).
Formal training/certification in MEDA facilitation, Human Factors and/or root cause analysis methods (Bow‑Tie, 5‑Why/Fishbone).
Familiarity with electronic QMS/SMS tools and safety reporting systems; experience preparing regulatory/customer occurrence reports.
Experience with data management such as data collection, cleaning, and analysing. Additional analytics skills for automation and advanced visualisation. Proficiency with Tableau preferred.
