Job summary

AME International seeks a software-focused engineer to design, develop, and test software for wafer probers, integrating with hardware and optimizing performance. The role involves cross-functional collaboration, implementing best practices, and maintaining documentation across design, testing, and commissioning phases.

Candidate will work on automation equipment design and simulations, contributing to end-to-end development from concept to prototype testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test software for controlling wafer probers material handling systems.
• Write clean, maintainable code with appropriate languages and tools.
• Develop algorithms and control logic for precise material handling operations.
• Integrate software with hardware components and systems; design interfaces and protocols.
• Conduct integration testing to validate system functionality and performance.
• Analyze system performance and implement optimizations for efficiency, speed, reliability.
• Perform simulations to validate performance enhancements.
• Collaborate with hardware and systems engineers and product managers.
• Communicate project status and issues to stakeholders.
• Implement and maintain software development best practices (version control, testing, documentation).
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations and company policies.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement; incorporate field feedback.
• Conceptualize and design Automation/Semiconductor Equipment per customer specs.
• Design material handling systems and components for wafer probers (loading, unloading, transport, alignment).
• Create detailed design specs, documentation, BOMs; develop 2D/3D drawings using CAD.
• Proceed with feasibility studies and simulations to validate concepts and performance.
• Develop design verification test plans and reports; responsible for equipment specs & buy-off.
• Keep to project schedules; resolve design issues; work with cross-functional teams to achieve objectives.
• Present detailed designs and supporting simulations/calculations for review.
• Troubleshoot and resolve testing issues; ensure on-schedule and within-budget projects.
• Hands-on assembly and testing of prototypes with precision measurement equipment.
