Job summary

Autism Association (Singapore) is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to lead sensory assessments, interventions and hand function programmes within a multidisciplinary team.

You will adapt classrooms, train teachers, supervise OTs, and help set goals, with a focus on life readiness skills and ASD-related training.

Applicants should be registered with the Allied Health Professional Council in Singapore, with supervision certification preferred, and a passion for the autism community.

Qualifications

• Registered OT with the Allied Health Professional Council in Singapore as Full Registrant.
• Supervision certificate preferred.
• At least 5–7 years of relevant working experience in assessment, intervention and teaching.
• Desire to learn about Autism and the passion to serve the autism community and their families.
• Excellent collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Assessment and Intervention on Sensory Issues.
• Develop Programmes to intervene handwriting/hand function difficulties.
• Conduct Assessment on Vocational Skills to increase productivity through adapting to the environment and teaching skills.
• Be part of the multidisciplinary team to assess and intervene for complex challenging behaviors.
• Plan and deliver Life Readiness skills programmes (sensory, fine motor, handwriting, work skills).
• Adapt school/classroom environment, tools and materials to improve functioning and access to curricular activities and safety.
• Implement school-wide sensory support initiatives.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to review occupational therapy goals and plans.
• Evaluate progress and outcomes using selected measures at intervals.
• Provide training and instruction to teachers on adaptive devices and ensuring optimal benefits.
• Plan and deliver ASD-related topics training to stakeholders.
• Plan induction and orientation for new OTs; coach and develop OTs.
• Supervise OTs eligible for registration in Singapore to Full Registrant.
• Monitor KPIs and participate in development of policies and procedures with allied health colleagues.
• Conduct performance reviews of OTs and take on additional supervisor duties as required.
