Job Description
An Associate Teacher will work collaboratively with the class group of teachers and be accountable to the Core Teacher for all matters regarding the class.

  • Presenting as a professional and committed staff member
  • Assistance in establishing an effective and responsive classroom environment where children are active participants
  • Contributing to maintaining a positive learning environment
  • Observe children in play in order to assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the child centred curriculum for both the indoor and outdoor learning environments
  • Responsible for small group learning experiences
  • Assist in supporting the positive development of children’s social competencies
  • Assist in the routine care of children (meal, toileting, rest)
  • Maintain positive relationships with family
  • Maintenance of materials, resources and equipment in classrooms
  • Assist in the professional documentation and display of children’s work
  • Support and maintain positive classroom relationships where all members of the class are respected and valued
  • Assist and support all preschool functions
  • Work as an active and participatory team member
  • All duty of care responsibilities

  • Attend staff meetings
