COMPANY DESCRIPTION

THKMC was incorporated on 13 October 2011 as a charity to provide multiple social and welfare services to the community at large, and achieved an Institute of Public Character (IPC) status on 18 November 2011. THKMC is the charitable arm of Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society, which lives by the mission - To Serve Mankind - to help anyone who needs help regardless of their race, religion, colour, language, creed and culture. THKMC today serves more than 70,000 beneficiaries through more than 70 programmes across five Services, which include Disability, Early Intervention for Children, Family, Seniors' Community, and Therapy.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Early Intervention for Children (EIC) Services helps equip children with motor, communication, social, self-help and cognitive skills. THK EIC Centre involves structuring classes around small groups encompassing early childhood special education, social work and therapy support services to stimulate their adaptive functioning and school readiness skills.

1. Assessments and Transition Support
  • Administer cognitive tests (e.g., WPPSI, SAS)
  • Conduct caregiver interview using tools such as Vineland
  • Liaison work with caregivers or for caregivers, or other professionals for assessment and school application purposes
  • Write assessment reports
  • Transition support for clients / family
2. Facilitation (Under Supervision)
  • Workshops for caregivers and staff e.g. positive behaviour support
3. Intervention
  • Implement intervention strategies under supervision of psychologists and supervisors
  • Implement of social skills group in classrooms together with psychologists
  • Participate in trans-disciplinary team meetings; contributing behavioural descriptions of the children from observations
4. Data Management
  • To collate and submit required data in a timely manner e.g. submission of CODRF scores and Functional Age Estimates (FAE)
  • Manage SPA database with other Psychologists or Psychologist Associates
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree in Psychology with good Honours, from a recognised institution;
  • Those intending to train as Educational, Clinical or Developmental Psychologist
