Job Description

The Academy for Healthy Longevity (the Academy) at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS, seeks applications for an Associate Professor position. The Academy is leading advancements in Geroscience and Precision Geromedicine through innovative education, research, and its dissemination. The Academy embraces creativity and bold thinking, consistently reimagining education and research to drive better outcomes and lasting impact. By challenging the status quo, and exploring innovative approaches, we inspire transformative learning and research experiences that endure.

Position Overview

This position offers the opportunity to shape the future of our educational and capacity-building initiatives, working closely with the Academy’s leadership team. The appointment level will be Lecturer or Senior Lecturer, based on the candidate's track record in education leadership, delivery, and research. This is a three-year position, with potential for renewal based on performance.

Main duties and responsibilities
  • Lead the development and delivery of the new Masters program in Geroscience and Precision Geromedicine.
  • Design, deliver, and evaluate curricula for undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing professional education, including MSc-level courses, short courses, masterclasses, and executive education.
  • Lead Academy activities, such as international conferences and workshops.
  • Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders about the Academy’s educational activities and impacts.
  • Mentorship of junior faculty members and leading faculty development programs.
  • Lead research activities of the Academy.
The applicant should have:
  • Keen interest in the development of this emerging field.
  • PhD in Medicine, Nursing, Allied Health, Life Sciences, or a related field with relevant teaching experience.
  • Demonstrate outstanding teaching performance and instructional quality at the undergraduate/graduate level.
  • Experience in developing and implementing innovative curricula and educational programs.
  • Proven track record of publications and presentations at international or national scientific conferences, particularly in medical and health professions education.
