POSITION DESCRIPTION:

· WadzPay is looking for Associate Legal Counsel for Asia-Pacific who is an experienced and action-oriented lawyer and leader who can guide us and drive the growth of our business in Asia, Middle East, Africa and Europe and build successful relationships with regulators in the region. You will be working in a cutting edge and fast paced environment, where disruptive technologies and unconventional thinking are the norm. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Develop and lead legal strategies and support for critical market growth initiatives

• Guide and drive licensing efforts in multiple jurisdictions and eliminate regulatory and operational blockers by collaborating with cross-functional teams internally and engaging with local regulators
• Provide practical, in-depth thought leadership on legal issues and risks in a risk-tolerant, but compliance-oriented environment, including the impact on the company's long-term strategy to business and legal audiences
• Proactively solve process and other problems for the business as they plan and execute on an accelerated and aggressive global growth plan
• Analyze and advise on complex, new regulatory guidance in financial, crypto, and tech sectors.
• Collaborate with Product Legal team support to Product team for new jurisdiction-specific product initiatives
• Collaborate closely with leadership across Trust & Risk org to ensure growth in new markets is successful and sustainable
• Develop appropriate legal templates for agreements with clients and service providers with adequate protection and remedies
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts and licence agreements, master service agreements statement and other legal documents

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Master’s degree in business, Law, Finance, Accounting, or a related field 5-8+ years of legal experience
• Substantial experience developing and successfully providing legal support for international growth plans, including assessing regulatory and legal requirements and developing a plan for successful execution
• Substantial experience translating complex, new regulatory guidance into actionable business guidance for market expansion strategies
• Extensive experience and strong skills in drafting and negotiating transaction documentations
• Proven track record in driving licensing efforts and working as part of a cross-functional team to launch new operations, products, and business lines.
• Experience in financial, crypto, and/or tech sectors and applicable regulatory regimes

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in compliance roles within the financial services sector, preferably with exposure to payment and virtual asset spaces.
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, Law, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required.
• Proven ability to work with global teams in setting appropriate compliance programs.
