Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Singapore is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to manage and oversee electrical installations and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and 2-5 years of experience in the petrochemical industry. Responsibilities include designing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems, as well as providing training and technical expertise. The role is based in Jurong Island and offers opportunities for ongoing training.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 - 5 years of experience in electrical engineering activities in the chemical or petrochemical industry.
  • Proficient in technical drawings (P&ID, electrical/instrumentation).
  • Willing to work in Jurong Island.

Responsibilities

  • Design, install, repair, maintain and operate electrical installations up to 66kV.
  • Provide technical expertise for E&I maintenance.
  • Plan, manage, and estimate plant projects associated with Electrical, Automation, Instrumentation.
  • Provide technical expertise on the latest electrical safety and best practices.

Job description
Jobscope:
1. Safety and availability of ElectricalSystems, Installation andPower Network
  • Design, install, repair, maintain, operate, inspect, test and take full charge and responsibility for any electrical installation on the site up to 66kV.
  • Mainly listed systems and dedicated subsystems: Main substation, substations, high voltage GIS (Gas Isolated Switchgear) and installation, high, medium and low voltage motor, diesel power generator, transformer, UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply), MCC (Motor Control Center), PU (Package Units).
  • SCS (Switchgear Control System) and all with above mentioned related PLC (Programmable Logic Controller)
  • Planning and scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Perform troubleshooting and problem solving tasks during project startup, maintenance, and production problems.
  • Design, program and modify or specify the algorithms, graphics, displays, interlocks and calculations into above mentioned systems.
  • Safety-and quality-focused, with willingness for on-call duties (24/7) and ongoing training (locally or abroad)
2. Provide and implement technical assistance
  • Provide technical expertise and oversight for E&I maintenance and technical changes to the instrument and electrical systems required.
  • Provide training for maintenance team related to Electrical safety.
  • Identify and implement potential cost savings and safety related ideas
3. Provide cost estimates and engineering support
  • Plan, manage, estimate, design, construct and startup plant projects associated with Electrical, Automation, Instrumentation and Facility systems
4. Focal point Electrical issues
  • Provide technical expertise on state-of-the-art of electrical installation, knowledge of the latest trends in the areas of electrical safety, systems and equipment to implement best practices for the site.
Requirements
  • Bachelor or Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Process Controls or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 - 5 years of experience in electrical engineering activities in the chemical or petrochemical industry
  • Proficient in Siemens GIS and SCS, technical drawings (P&ID, electrical/instrumentation), and SAP
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and cultural adaptability skills.
  • Willing to work in Jurong Island
