Associate – Investment Banking / M&A
About the Role
We are representing a mid‑market investment advisory firm expanding its Singapore office. The firm offers end‑to‑end deal execution, regional exposure, and a strong focus on professional growth. The client is an independent, boutique investment banking advisory firm headquartered in Singapore, with a Pan‑Asian presence. Their key business activities involve private financing, M&A, and restructuring advisory services across various industry verticals, with a focus on the TMT, consumer/retail, industrials, real estate/hospitality, and infrastructure sectors.
Role Description
The Associate/Senior Associate will be expected to work closely with senior management in executing various transactions and also manage a team of Analysts.
Core responsibilities are as follows:
Transaction Execution
- Assist in the preparation of marketing documents / presentations, including teasers, information memorandums and management presentations
- Develop financial analyses to support the deal process, including (1) creation of financial models – operating models/pro‑formal earnings and (2) preparation of valuation analyses – DCF, SOTP and/or comparable company analysis (precedent transaction and trading)
- Be a reliable contact person for conducting and coordinating any client due diligence processes
Manage client engagement through
- Maintain client relationships by managing day‑to‑day inquiries & obtaining appropriate information to execute assignments
- Coordinate between the different levels of the company and with external parties to complete the transaction
Industry Specific
- Preparing market and industry research reports highlighting key issues, trends and outlook as advised by the senior team
- Undertake research on special projects or sectors to identify business opportunities including potential clients
- Track identified companies/sectors on a regular basis for key events and announcements
- Provide the industry related inputs for the creation of transaction marketing materials
- Conduct detailed industry analysis and develop firm industry knowledge of one or more sectors
Administrative
- Responsible for all client files – hard copy and soft versions to be maintained and kept up to date and backed up on the server
- Ensure that deal documents like NDAs, engagement letters etc. are stored correctly in hard and soft copy and backed up on server
- Assist the senior team in drafting / negotiating NDAs and client engagement letters
- Set up and send out meeting and conference call requests
- Ensure that the closed deal process is followed (necessary client communication, preparation of tombstones, preparation of case study, etc.)
- Creating and updating company databases in a timely manner

- Ability to comprehend data (both qualitative & quantitative) and communicate succinctly
- Knowledge of products like term debt, working capital financing, project finance, structured products, M&A etc.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and databases (CapIQ / Bloomberg)
