Associate Engineer (Electrical & Electronics Consumer Products)

As an Associate Test Engineer with a world leader in product testing and certification, you will be instrumental to conducting independent electrical safety testing to achieving compliance with relevant international or national directives, regulations and standards before consumer‑safe products go to market within the Electrical & Electronic Service Line of Product Services Division.
You will be part of a dynamic multi‑disciplinary team of experts as we drive the development of new services and future businesses in the age of digital transformation such as smart home technologies, wearable devices, personal robotics to name a few.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and evaluate tests on products such as consumer information technology, Audio Visual and Home Appliances products for compliance to various safety and performance international standards
  • Prepare test and inspection reports
  • Coordinate with customers, suppliers and sub‑contractors to ensure smooth execution of projects
  • Undertake process improvement projects on testing facilities and services
  • Maintain and upkeep test facilities and equipment
Key Requirements
  • Minimum a NITEC / Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or its equivalent
  • Candidates with relevant working experience involving IT equipment and home appliance evaluation will be an added advantage.
  • Result and service‑oriented individual who possesses initiative, good communication and interper‑sonal skills
  • Proactive team player with the ability to work independently in challenging projects and timelines
  • Self‑motivated and resourceful with a "can‑do" attitude
  • Knowledge of IEC standards will be a plus, namely IEC 62368‑1 and IEC 60335‑1

As a Test Engineer with a world leader in product testing and certification, you will be instrumental to conducting independent electrical safety testing to achieving compliance with relevant international or national directives, regulations and standards before consumer‑safe products go to market within the Electrical & Electronic Service Line of Product Services Division.

You will be part of a dynamic multi‑disciplinary team of experts as we drive the development of new services and future businesses in the age of digital transformation such as smart home technologies, wearable devices, personal robotics to name a few.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure quality and safety of consumer products by conducting performance, energy efficiency and electrical safety tests on both conventional and smart consumer electrical and electronic products
  • Review and exercise engineering judgement on test standards and develop test procedures/ protocols for laboratory testing
  • Setup/commission test facilities in accordance to test standards and OHSAS guidelines
  • Work with business and sales teams to develop and commercialize new testing services, and build technical capabilities to meet new trends in consumer technology including providing technical support for sales enquiries
  • Undertake developmental projects in engineering disciplines such as process, operations, facilities or service improvements
  • Partner with customers, suppliers and sub‑contractors to ensure smooth and timely execution of projects
Key Requirements
  • Minimum Diploma qualifications in Electrical / Electronic Engineering with at least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of ISO Quality Management System (i.e. ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001) is an added advantage
  • Strongly analytical, results and service‑oriented individual with demonstrated high agility to work in a cross‑cultural, cross‑generational and matrix environment
  • Collaborative with internal and external stakeholders yet innovative to drive changes in challenging circumstances
  • Passionate about consumer safety and seeking purposeful career in a commercially dynamic environment
