A prominent law firm in Singapore is seeking an enthusiastic Associate to join their Corporate team. The role involves advising corporates and financial institutions on M&A and private fundraising transactions. Responsibilities include drafting legal documentation, providing relevant advice, and networking with clients. Ideal candidates will have 2-4 years PQE and preferably be admitted to the Singapore bar. Strong interpersonal, networking, and organizational skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in a related field.
  • Experience within a top-tier firm would have an added advantage.

Job description

Our Corporate team specializes in cross-border corporate transactions, including merger and acquisitions, private equity transactions, joint ventures and corporate reorganisations. We advise on a mix of corporate strategic transactions and private capital deals across Southeast Asia and the broader Asia region, including work in sectors such as infrastructure, technology, energy, financial services and FMCG.

As a result of expansion and growth across the region, we at Linklaters, are looking for a curious minded and enthusiastic Associate to be a part of our Corporate team. Reporting to the Partners, in this role, you will be advising corporates, fund managers and financial institutions on a range of M&A and private fundraising transactions as well as general corporate work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft and review documentation, demonstrate familiarity with precedents and market standards;
  • Provide commercially relevant legal advice to clients;
  • Supervise team and demonstrate effective delegation skills;
  • Network with clients to capitalize on new business opportunities.

To succeed in this role, you should be able to contribute to knowhow, communicate assertively when under pressure and be a proactive team player.
