Department Overview:
The Business Continuity Management team in AEJ is part of the Business Resilience team. Globally, it is part of the Nomura Group Business Resilience Team. There will be opportunities to interact and grow with other Business Resilience teams such Third Party Risk Management and Operational Resilience.
This function is key to help set the AEJ Business Continuity Management Policies and Framework, in line with the Nomura global risk framework and risk appetite, and in accordance with Regulatory Standards.
As Business Continuity is a continual focus by regional regulators to ensure continued business resiliency, this team plays a critical role to ensure governance and oversight mechanisms are in place to provide Nomura’s Senior Management governance visibility on our recovery capabilities.
Role Overview:
Working in the AEJ Business Resilience team, you will be required to:
- Provide daily BAU support on Business Continuity processes and systems (e.g. manage user queries, manage daily emails)
- Assist in managing BCP and BIA process (coordination / facilitation of updating / creating plans), quality assurance of submitted plans and act as a central coordinator between Business when remediation is required.
- Assist in designing and preparing reporting for monitoring of BCM plans, dependencies and testing. Suggesting and implementing changes for streamlining of our processes.
- Projects / Testing support requiring coordinating across different teams and regions, follow up and ensure completion activity
- Assist and manage system and process enhancements, help to automate / streamline processes as much as possible.
- Assist in designing controls and implement processes to enhance governance, including help on policy reviews, regulatory requirements like outsourcing, business resiliency, etc.
Skills, experience, qualifications, and knowledge required:
- Minimum Bachelors Degree
- Minimum 5 years of experience in audit or risk management function
- Proven experience supporting or managing Operational Resilience and/or Business Continuity frameworks within a financial or corporate environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage tasks independently, organize multiple deliverables, and maintain high accuracy in documentation and reporting.
- Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional projects, communicate requirements clearly with stakeholders, and support project delivery across regions or departments.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (pivot tables, data analysis, charting) and PowerPoint; experience using workflow or automation tools to streamline reporting processes.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technology platforms or internal systems within short timelines.
- Demonstrated experience in analyzing business processes and data to identify gaps and recommend measurable improvement actions.
