The Business Finance Analyst plays a critical role in supporting financial planning, performance management, forecasting, pricing analysis, and operational efficiency. The role requires strong analytical capability, clear communication, and a structured approach to financial modelling and stakeholder engagement. This position partners closely with business units to translate financial insights into meaningful recommendations that support decision-making and drive commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Pricing & Commercial Support
- Review and assess pricing proposals to ensure commercial alignment, profitability, and sustainability.
- Partner with commercial teams to evaluate deal structures and pricing scenarios.
- Ensure pricing decisions reflect financial policies, assumptions, and strategic direction.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Develop, maintain, and improve financial models to support business planning, forecasting, and strategic analysis.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, dashboards, and insights to support leadership review and business visibility.
- Conduct variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior periods; identify key drivers and quantify material impacts.
- Support other analysis or finance-related projects.
Performance Management
- Support short- and long-term planning cycles (budget, outlooks, rolling forecasts).
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) across business units and assist in establishing benchmarks.
- Evaluate trends and financial performance against targets to recommend corrective actions.
Business Partnering & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Engage with internal stakeholders (Commercial, Operations, Product, Finance) to understand business drivers and validate financial assumptions.
- Translate complex analysis into clear, concise insights tailored to the audience.
- Contribute recommendations that balance financial impact, operational feasibility, and customer considerations.
Process & Reporting Improvements
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and automate manual work through tools, templates, and dashboards.
- Drive consistency, standardization, and accuracy in financial data and reporting models.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Business, or equivalent experience. Preferably with experience in statistical analysis and financial forecasting.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into meaningful insights.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Table/Charts, Macros/VBA, Dynamic Formulas and Arrays); SQL exposure and experience with dashboards or BI tools is a plus.
- Meticulous in detailed work with the ability to work under pressure, prioritize effectively, and deliver to deadlines.
