Overview
This Procurement AI/Gen AI Enablement role is crucial in strengthening our procurement transformation efforts.
- Drive and oversee implementation and integration of AI/Gen AI solutions within procurement.
- Focuses on leveraging AI/Gen AI capabilities to optimize procurement processes, enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve decision‑making.
- Perform risk and model monitoring on all AI/Gen AI solutions post‑rollout to ensure continued performance and mitigate potential issues.
- Ensures alignment with overall procurement strategy and collaborates with stakeholders across the organization to maximize the value derived from AI/Gen AI technologies.
Job Responsibilities
Work with procurement leaders to identify, implement and drive adoption and effective utilization of AI/Gen AI use cases within the procurement function. The specialist will bridge the gap between procurement needs and technical solutions, ensuring successful implementation and continuous improvement of AI/GenAI‑powered initiatives.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Strategy
- Work closely with respective procurement teams such as sourcing, contract management and procurement operations to embed AI/GenAI solutions into procurement workflows.
- Act as a subject matter expert, guiding stakeholders on the potential and limitations of AI/Gen AI in procurement processes.
- Translate complex technical concepts into understandable business language for non‑technical stakeholders and vice‑versa.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on AI‑driven procurement analytics.
- Support change management initiatives to drive adoption of AI‑driven procurement processes.
- Assist to develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for AI/Gen AI integration within Procurement, outlining key initiatives, timelines, and expected outcomes.
Business‑Tech Bridge & Project Management
- Act as a liaison between the Business unit and the Technology team to define and articulate business needs and translate them into clear requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria for AI/GenAI solutions.
- Collaborate with Technology teams on the design, development, integration and deployment of AI/Gen AI models into existing procurement processes and systems.
- Coordinate and facilitate communication between stakeholders, including business unit representatives, Technology team and Data Chapter team.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and roadblocks during project execution, escalating issues as necessary.
- Oversee project timelines to ensure smooth and efficient project delivery.
Prompt Engineering and Optimization
- Design, develop, and refine effective prompts for Gen AI models to achieve desired outcomes in procurement contexts (e.g., drafting RFPs, summarizing contracts, generating supplier insights)
- Experiment with various prompt engineering techniques to optimize model performance, accuracy, and relevance.
- Develop best practices and guidelines for prompt creation within the procurement team.
- Continuously monitor and analyze prompt effectiveness, making iterative improvements based on feedback and performance data.
- Document prompt revisions and their impact on Gen AI output quality, providing valuable insights for future iterations.
Data and Model Management
- Work with Technology and Data Chapter teams to identify, prepare, and curate data sets suitable for training and validating AI/GenAI models.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data used in AI/GenAI models.
- Work with Data Chapter team to monitor and evaluate the performance of AI/GenAI model, track key metrics, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Understand and communicate the underlying data structures and dependencies of AI/Gen AI solutions to procurement users.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of appropriate AI/Gen AI models and platforms.
RDU Gen AI Model Governance and Deck Preparation
- Develop a strong understanding and ensuring compliance with internal standards like the PURE (Purposeful, Unsurprising, Respectful, Explainable) Framework and AI/ML/GenAI Governance Framework.
- Collaborate with UORM and Data Chapter team to prepare the presentation deck for RDU review and approval.
Training
- Assist in drafting a comprehensive training guide that effectively communicates the objective, impact and benefits of AI/GenAI solutions to key stakeholders in business unit.
- Conduct training sessions for the roll‑out of the new Gen AI applications and tools.
- Assist in training and upskilling the procurement team on AI/GenAI applications and tools.
Continuous Improvement & Risk/Model Monitoring
- Perform risk and model monitoring on all AI/Gen AI solutions post‑rollout to ensure continued performance and mitigate potential issues.
- Proactively identify potential biases, drift, or performance degradation in deployed AI/GenAI models and collaborate with technical teams for remediation.
- Stay abreast of emerging AI/Gen AI technologies, trends and best practices, continuously identifying opportunities for further innovation and optimization within Procurement.
- Champion a culture of continuous learning and improvement in AI/Gen AI adoption.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer/data science, linguistics, technical writing, or a related field.
- Min 5 years of proven experience in procurement, prompt engineering or a related role with exposure to AI/Gen AI technologies.
- Good understanding of procurement processes and supplier management.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business challenges into AI‑enabled solutions.
- Experience managing and coordinating projects, from initial ideation to successful implementation and deployment.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends and derive meaningful insights for decision making.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships with Tech teams and business unit colleagues.
- Ability to facilitate collaborative discussions and problem‑solving sessions, driving consensus and effective outcomes.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
- Experienced with different AI/Gen AI models and various prompt techniques, including practical use of Postman application and Python scripting.
