You will lead the strategy, portfolio development, governance, and adoption of AI-enabled solutions and agents across Group Operations. Working with Operations leaders, IT, Group Data, Information Security, Data Protection, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and external partners, you will identify and prioritise high-value opportunities, shape scalable solution approaches, and oversee delivery from concept through implementation and benefits realisation. The role combines strategic leadership, portfolio and stakeholder management, solution governance, and practical AI expertise to improve operational effectiveness, decision support, employee productivity, and customer outcomes.
- Lead the Operations AI solution portfolio, establishing the roadmap, priorities, delivery approach, governance standards, and success measures in alignment with Group Operations objectives.
- Partner with senior Operations stakeholders to identify strategic pain points, productivity opportunities, decision-support needs, and customer or employee journeys that can be improved through Generative AI, Microsoft Copilot, workflow automation, or related technologies.
- Direct the end-to-end development of AI agents and AI-enabled solutions, from opportunity assessment and use-case prioritisation through prototyping, testing, implementation, adoption, and post-launch review.
- Provide leadership and guidance to team members and project contributors, including setting direction, reviewing solution quality, resolving delivery challenges, supporting capability development, and ensuring accountability for agreed outcomes.
- Oversee the translation of business needs into structured use cases, target operating processes, user journeys, functional requirements, agent instructions, knowledge-source requirements, guardrails, controls, and measurable success criteria.
- Guide the design and refinement of AI agent prototypes using approved enterprise tools and platforms, ensuring appropriate prompt engineering, knowledge grounding, workflow orchestration, human-in-the-loop controls, and operational readiness.
- Chair or lead cross-functional discussions with IT, Group Data, Information Security, Data Protection, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and vendors to address architecture, data access, privacy, security, responsible AI, procurement, and implementation requirements.
- Develop and present business cases, investment recommendations, delivery plans, and management updates covering expected benefits, process impact, risks, dependencies, resource requirements, implementation considerations, and opportunities for scaling or reuse.
- Drive change management and adoption across Operations through stakeholder engagement, demonstrations, training, playbooks, reusable assets, communities of practice, and the development of practical AI capabilities within business teams.
- Monitor the performance, benefits, risks, and control effectiveness of implemented solutions, and sponsor continuous improvement actions based on user feedback, operational data, emerging risks, and technology developments.
- Manage the overall portfolio of assigned initiatives, including resources, budgets where applicable, timelines, risks, issues, vendors, documentation, governance deliverables, and executive stakeholder communications, while supporting broader Operations Business Solution priorities.
- Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related discipline; professional certification in Insurance, AI, automation, product management, or project disciplines will be an advantage.
- Substantial experience successfully implementing AI solutions in a production or enterprise environment, including leading solutions from use-case definition and proof-of-concept through testing, deployment, user adoption, and post-implementation review, preferably within insurance or financial services.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives or solution portfolios, setting strategic direction, managing competing priorities, and delivering measurable business outcomes.
- Proven practical experience delivering AI agents, Generative AI solutions, Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, workflow automation, or comparable enterprise platforms, with a clear understanding of the technical, operational, governance, and change-management considerations required for implementation.
- Strong ability to assess operational opportunities, prioritise use cases, shape scalable solution approaches, and translate complex business problems into clear requirements, controls, delivery plans, and success measures.
- Good understanding of prompt engineering, knowledge grounding, output evaluation, human-in- the-loop design, data privacy, information security, responsible AI, model limitations, and operational risk management.
- Strong leadership, coaching, stakeholder management, facilitation, negotiation, written communication, and presentation skills, with the confidence to influence senior business and technical stakeholders.
- Commercial and analytical mindset, with the ability to develop business cases, evaluate benefits and risks, make evidence-based recommendations, and navigate ambiguity.
- Self-driven, accountable, and adaptable, with the ability to lead multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment while building collaboration and ownership across teams.
- Strong interest in emerging technologies, continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and practical innovation that can be applied safely and sustainably within Operations.
