Job summary

A leading early childhood care provider in Singapore is looking for a passionate individual to support children with special needs. You will assist in implementing educational programs, maintain classroom activities, and develop positive relationships with children and parents. The ideal candidate will have a background in early childhood education or special needs education, excellent communication skills, and a creative mindset.

Qualifications

  • Certificate in Early Childhood Care & Education or Special Needs Education is an advantage.
  • Passionate about working with children with special needs.
  • Be familiar with all working curriculum documents, handbooks, and policy manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and implementing programs for children.

Job description
Description
  • Plan, supervise, and implement the program for the class in accordance with the policies, guidelines, framework and philosophy of the centre.
  • Assist in preparing and implementing the programs for children.
  • To assist main class teacher in managing challenging children using appropriate behavioural strategies.
  • To be able to assist in teaching appropriate mealtime behaviour and supervise play times.
  • To assist the main class teachers in toileting needs of the children (bringing the children to the toilet).
  • To assist in administrative areas such as typing out various reports (e.g. IEP, Progress Report, Educational Report) to support the main teacher.
  • To be able to provide input on children’s progress during case conferences or at any other discussion points.
  • Assist with planning, share ideas and exchange feedback with the entire team at least once a month.
  • Prepare age and developmentally appropriate teaching aids.
  • Evaluate and maintain records of children’s development.
  • To render basic first aid as and when necessary.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of teaching resources, prepare art and craft materials, arrangement, appearance, decorations, and learning environment of the classroom.
  • Use positive discipline techniques at all times.
  • Maintain and build relationships with children and parents.

  • Certificate / Fundamental in Early Childhood Care & Education or Special Needs Education is an advantage
