Role Overview
As an Assistant Teacher, you will work closely with the Lead Teacher to support classroom activities and provide individualised guidance to students. This role is ideal for students or early-career educators looking to gain meaningful experience in a child-focused, innovative learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Teacher in classroom management and lesson delivery
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, especially in our Reading Programme
- Help set up and facilitate learning materials, activities, and group work
- Monitor and encourage student participation and engagement
- Assist in creating a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
- Help with daily classroom routines and administrative tasks
- Observe student progress and report concerns to the Lead Teacher
- Contribute to maintaining classroom cleanliness and organisation
- Participate in team meetings, training, and planning sessions as needed
Requirements
- A genuine passion for working with children aged 4-6
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Responsible, proactive, and eager to learn
- Good team player and able to take direction well
- Patient, kind, and nurturing attitude
- Able to commit to a consistent schedule (minimum number of weeks may apply for internships)
Preferred Qualifications (Not Mandatory)
- Currently studying or graduated from a field related to Education, Early Childhood, Psychology, or Social Sciences (bonus)
- Previous experience in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or volunteering with children
- Familiarity with classroom or enrichment centre environments
