Job summary

A leading engineering consulting firm in Singapore is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for Railway Operations. Responsibilities include managing safety protocols, coordinating train delivery, and leading teams for maintenance work. Candidates should have a local Diploma in E&M Engineering and preferably experience in the railway industry. Leadership skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience working in the railway industry.
  • Train testing and commissioning experience is advantageous.
  • Possess a relevant Class 3 or 4 local driving license is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform railway operation duties such as track access control and operating trains.
  • Manage central control to ensure safety compliance.
  • Coordinate lifting activities for train delivery.
  • Lead a team for maintenance works.

Job description
Duties & Responsibilities

Position: Assistant Superintendent - Railway Operation

  • Perform railway operation duties such as safe pedestrian track access control, operate shunting vehicle or passenger/ engineering trains for movement, setting of routes for train movement, etc. in the Test Centre.
  • Manage central control at the OCC building to ensure safety and security of the Test Centre operations are compliance with the Safety Manual, Rule Book, etc.
  • Coordinate with contractors for lifting activities for train delivery into or out of the Test Centre.
  • Able to perform shift duty, work overtime and relief work.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Superintendent.
  • Able to lead and take charge of a team of work group or contractor for building services/ structure maintenance works, core system (Signaling/ Comms/ Control) maintenance works, etc. within the Test Centre.
  • Able to support overseas assignment if necessary.
  • To take-up the role as trainer when required.
Profile of successful candidate
  • Local Diploma Certification in E&M Engineering discipline working in railway industry.
  • Candidate with train testing and commissioning work experiences would be an advantage.
  • Training will be provided to successful to perform the railway operation duties.
  • With knowledge of Microsoft Office application for report submission and presentation.
  • Self-motivated and able to be cross trained and keen to learn new skills.
  • Able to lead and take charge of a team of work group.
  • Possess a relevant Class 3 or 4 local driving license would be an advantage.
