Job summary

EY Singapore is seeking an Auditor to join our Financial Services Audit team. You will deliver quality auditing services across banking, asset management, insurance and private equity clients, applying professional standards and risk-based approaches.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams, develop deep industry knowledge, and progress through structured coaching and learning opportunities as you contribute to client engagements and foster long-term relationships with clients.

Qualifications

• A degree in Accountancy (or related studies) or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 1 year of external audit experience, with recent experience in the past two years.
• Prior external audit exposure in financial services (insurance, banking, asset management) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver quality auditing services to clients and their stakeholders.
• Demonstrate an understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations.
• Collaborate to plan engagement objectives and an audit strategy that complies with professional standards and addresses risk.
• Direct field work, manage engagement economics and inform supervisors of the audit engagement status.
• Monitor the engagement team's progress against the plan and adjust it when needed.
• Supervise junior engagement team members and develop them through delegation and guidance.
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with audit client personnel and maintain contact throughout the year.

The opportunity

You will have the opportunity to take on responsibilities that would allow you to develop a deep and professional knowledge base in markets such as wealth and asset management, banking, insurance, private equity and capital markets.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Deliver quality auditing services to clients and their stakeholders
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations
• Collaborate to plan engagement objectives and an audit strategy that complies with professional standards and appropriately address risk
• Direct field work, manage engagement economics and inform supervisors of the audit engagement status
• Monitor the engagement team's progress against the plan and alter it when needed
• Supervise junior engagement team members and develop them through effectively delegating audit tasks and providing guidance to assurance staff
• Develop and maintain productive working relationships with audit client personnel, assess audit clients’ satisfaction and proactively maintain contact with the audit client throughout the year

To qualify for the role, you must have

• A degree in Accountancy (or related studies) or have completed a professional Accountancy qualification
• Minimum 1 year of external audit experience, including recent external audit experience gained within the past two years
• Prior external audit exposure in the financial services sector is preferred, including insurance, banking, or asset management industries

Ideally, you’ll also have

Knowledge of business trends, emerging technical and industry developments
