Overview
The Personnel’s duties and responsibilities include:
Responsibilities
- Opening and closing of doors and windows in the morning and at the end of the day.
 - Ensure gas tap/valves and fans are switched off after each practical.
 - Maintain general cleanliness of labs including clearing of bins, cleaning of sinks, wiping students’/teachers’ benches and shelves, cleaning of drawers/cupboard and retorts stands, returning reagent bottles to proper place on lab benches, etc.
 
Assisting laboratory technicians in Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Lower Secondary Science
- Setting up/laying out apparatus before practical lessons and practical exams.
 - Clearing and cleaning of apparatus after practical lessons.
 - Drying of apparatus after washing and ensuring apparatus are dried and return to proper storage.
 - Filling up of empty distilled water.
 - Filling up of diluted bench reagents on students’ benches.
 - Cutting and dispensing fresh ingredients to students.
 - Pouring/weighing chemicals in vials and dispense to students for practical/exam.
 - Inventories checking.
 - Labelling of vials and beakers for chemical/specimen.
 - Maintenance of physics apparatus (placing in/removing batteries for electronic gadgets).
 - Be ready in preparation room to assist when practical are in session (if necessary).
