A leading educational services provider in Singapore seeks a full-time Assistant Science Laboratory Technician to support daily operations in the laboratory. The ideal candidate should have at least GCE O Level or equivalent qualifications and preferably 2 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include maintaining lab cleanliness, assisting technicians, and preparing for practical sessions. A pleasant personality and fluency in English are required.
Assistant Science Laboratory Technician
Contract Period: 1 January 2026 to 15 November 2026
(Note: Actual work contract will follow the dates above as per the Letter of Acceptance.)
Full-time employment at the school, 42.5 hours per week (both school term and school holidays).
Monday to Friday: Daily end time includes a 30-minute to 1-hour lunch break (arrangement can be discussed with the reporting officer).
Work hours may be adjusted by the school to meet operational needs.
Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays: No work required.
The Assistant Science Laboratory Technician will support daily operations in the Science Laboratory. Key responsibilities include:
i) Daily Routine Duties
Opening and closing laboratory doors and windows at the start and end of the day.
Ensuring gas taps/valves and fan are switched off after each practical session.
Maintaining general cleanliness of laboratories, including clearing bins, cleaning sinks, wiping benches and shelves, cleaning drawers/cupboards and retort stands, and returning reagent bottles to their proper places.
ii) Laboratory Assistance
Assist laboratory technicians in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Lower Secondary Science:
Setting up apparatus before practical lessons and practical exams.
Clearing and cleaning apparatus after practical lessons.
Drying apparatus after washing and returning to proper storage.
Filling empty distilled water and diluted bench reagents on students’ benches.
Cutting and dispensing fresh ingredients to students.
Pouring/weighing chemicals in vials and dispensing to students for practicals/exams.
Conducting inventory checks.
Labelling vials and beakers for chemicals/specimens.
Maintaining physics apparatus (e.g., batteries for electronic gadgets).
Being ready in the preparation room to assist during practical sessions if necessary.
iii) Additional Duties
Assist the Head of Department (HOD) with tasks as assigned.
Involved in GCE O Level Science practical exam preparation and post-practical exam clearing and washing.
The Personnel shall minimally possess the following qualifications and skills:
Educational Qualification: GCE O Level or equivalent.
Experience: 2 or more years of relevant work experience as an Assistant Laboratory Technician preferred (must be included in CV).
Pleasant personality with the ability to converse fluently in English.
